Like many other healthy habits from former times have a revival today, dry brushing becomes more and more popular as well.
In the article in Forbes Health "What is Drybrushing" I found the following interesting statements that I want to share with you:
“Dry brushing has its origins in many ancient cultures, from Ayurveda to traditional Chinese medicine,” says Sanober Pezad Doctor, M.D., an integrative and holistic dermatologist in Dallas, Texas. Traditional Chinese practices used dried fibers from a gourd fruit and Ancient Greeks and Romans used a bronze instrument and oil to remove dirt before bathing.
What caught my eye in this quote is the mentioned "bronze instrument" in the highly developed ancient cultures. Our Body Ionic Brush has bronze strands as bristles. I'll tell you more later on.
Exfoliation:
“The main benefit of dry brushing is exfoliation of dead skin cells,” says Hyemin Pomerantz, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in Wellesley, Massachusetts. “The top of the skin is covered with a layer of dead skin cells called stratum corneum. If this layer of the skin becomes thicker, the skin feels rough,” explains Dr. Pomerantz. Gentle dry brushing makes the skin appear smoother and more radiant.
Why is removing dead skin cells of advantage?
Opens pores:
Dry brushing opens the pores, allowing the skin to better absorb a moisturizer or topical prescription as there are less dead skin cells to penetrate, adds Dr. Pomrenatz.
Now let me tell you, and I have not only experienced that myself also but learned from a lot of my customer's feed backs that this Body Ionic Dry Brush definitely exfoliates the best compared to any other dry brush. So if you you already dry brush or want to start dry brushing especially for the reason to exfoliate, our Body Ionic Brush is by far the best brush for exfoliation.
One customer's quote that sums up all of the above :
"This works so well to get the dry skin off. Leaves your skin feeling tingly and energized. I use it on my elderly mother’s dry skin before I apply lotion so it really sinks in. Helps with the dry skin brought on by medication. Doesn’t scratch. Very soft."
